Building on the North Carolina coast

Season dictates launch dates absolutely. A booking system for a coastal business has to be live before the season, and a date missed by three weeks costs an entire year rather than three weeks.

Hurricane season shapes deployment planning. Between June and November we avoid major cutovers where possible, and build contingency into schedules rather than hoping.

Connectivity varies more than clients expect. Systems used on boats, at marinas or in the field need to handle intermittent connection properly, which is a design requirement rather than an edge case.

Local technical hiring is thin. Clients here cannot easily hire a developer to maintain an unusual stack, which makes choosing mainstream technology a practical obligation rather than a preference.
